Education Day at the Fair (September) Education Day at the Fair is for all Tehama County 6th grade students.  It has grown in attendance from 600 to 1000 students in four short years, which is almost all of the 6th grade students in Tehama County.  Education Day at the Fair is an opportunity for our students to participate in fun-filled, hands-on, learning ventures featuring presentations and activities by more than 20 organizations.  Students engage in a variety of activities that include math and science, timber, a science stage show, 4-H, Tehama County tree crops and beef industries, aquaculture, irrigation, geographic positioning systems, bees and volcanoes.  Students participate in activities presented by businesses, agencies, and organizations, such as Great Exploration in Math and Science (GEMS), Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), California Department of Forestry, Tehama County Resource Conservation District, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Sierra Pacific Industries, Sacramento River Discovery Center, and the Tehama County Cattle Women’s Association.

Children’s Fair – 4th Saturday in April The Children’s Fair of Tehama County brings together families and local organizations that provide services for young children, in celebration of community, childhood, and the spirit of learning.  Held the fourth Saturday in April, the Children’s Fair is open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Tehama District Fairgrounds in Red Bluff.  The Children’s Fair offers an informative day of creating, exploring, and fun at booths sponsored by local organizations, including preschools, extra-curricular activity providers (such as scouts, martial arts,  music and art), child safety organizations, fire and police departments, local recreation areas, and a number of churches. Northern California Productions provides music and entertainment throughout the day.  Everything is free to the families attending thanks to participating organizations and generous local sponsorship, as well as volunteer efforts of dozens of community members.  The Children’s Fair is a project of the Tehama County Education Foundation and the Tehama County Department of Education.
